But in doing this I have made one very important discovery... I am not flexible.
Yes, I know. It's a harsh world for us tall inflexible people.
| Er, yah.... I'm a beginner |
Anyways, yoga has a reputation for being very "ohm"-ish. This may turn some people off, but really, don't let it! You may even come to like it. My class had bubbly water music and the lights were off. Some people were really into meditating and stuff, but I was just concentrating on not falling over.
For Ultimate Dia challengers, yoga is something I highly recommend. The health benefits, according to Mayo Clinic, are:
·
Stress reduction.
·
Increased fitness.
·
Management of chronic health conditions.
· Weight loss.
In other words, even if you ARE as inflexible as me, go for it!
Just find a class at your local fitness center (L.A. Fitness-- whoop, whoop!) or get a DVD and do it at home (but be sure to buy a mat--- hard floors hurt). The toughest part is the flexibility and core strength, but I am told that it gets better the more you work at it.
This is one challenge I'm going to stick with.
